Trend Intensity Index (TII)
The Trend Intensity Index is used to indicate the strength of the current trend in the market. It is based on the premise that the stronger the current trend, the more likely the market will continue moving in the current direction.

The TII indicator can be used in a number of ways, including:

  • A TII value above 50 signals an uptrend

  • When TII falls below 50, a downtrend is likely in place

  • 50 represents a level that is trend-neutral

  • The closer TII is to 100, the stronger the current uptrend

  • The closer TII is to 0, the stronger the current downtrend

Usual Parameters for the indicator are (32 for Major Periods and 16 for Minor Periods, other alternatives could be 60,30 - by changing these you can find a best fit for evaluation purposes), its a much smoother indicator than the MACD - see example below using a RENKO chart set at 1 ATR over 14 days
