Integrated Brokerage       

OmniTrader’s Integrated Brokerage provides you with the ability to trade with your broker directly from a chart. This is done by using a powerful money management feature called Trade Plans. Trade Plans consist of the type of order you will place, the size of the order, and various stops to limit your risk while attempting to maximize profits at the same time.

Once you upgrade OmniTrader with the Brokerage module you will have access to the user manual which can be accessed via Help, Manuals. The following check list will help you get the system installed.

Getting Started with Interactive Brokers

Setting Up Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation

Before you can begin using the IB Brokerage module with OmniTrader, you must install Interactive Brokers (IB) Trader Workstation (TWS)

Updating the Java Runtime Environment

You will need to upgrade your Java runtime environment in order to use the IB TWS.

 

Installing Java - the latest version of Java will be required to run the software

1.Go to the Java website at www.java.com

2.Click the Java Software

3.Uninstall any pervious versions on your PC

4. Download latest version

Installing Interactive Brokers TWS

To install Interactive Brokers TWS you need to download two files from OmniTrader. Please contact CorporateDoctor for authorisation and licence keys.

1.  Get the Integrated Brokerage Workstation file (currently version 921.5)

Go to: https://www.nirvanasystems.com/intbrokerclientinstalls/

2. Get the Brokerage file

Go to  http://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/downloads/item.asp?Prodcode=690

Download both file and install them

  

Setting Up Interactive Brokers TWS

1.Launch the program by double-clicking on the Trader Workstation icon on your desktop or by selecting it within programs .

2.Enter the Username and Password that you selected when you completed your online account application with IB.

3.When the Work station is open, at the top of the TWS window, click Configure»API and put a check next to Enable Active X and Socket Clients and follow the other ticks and details as shown below

4.Click Configure>>Socket Port and make sure the port is set to 7496.

5.Select "Trusted IP Addresses..." and add the IP address 127.0.0.1.

6.Click OK.

 

   

 

Within OmniTrader

Note You must be logged into the IB TWS and have it running before you can select IB as your broker in OmniTrader Follow these instructions to log into the Trader Workstation.

  1. Ensure you have the latest release of OmniTrader

  2. Create a brokerage file as per example and test it works, Go Edit Broker settings

  3. Change the leverage to 100

  4. You should need to change the settings
